& that is the pictures of our hard-work brochure . Nice eh ? heh . (: Well, the cover page of the brochure, it's title is 'SAVING GAIA' . & for your information, Gaia is alsothe-so-called second name for Mother Earth . We decided to take that title because inside our brochure, there are some ways to help save Gaia . & we drew the Earth at the cover-page to help people realise that our Earth need everyone to help her . She looks perfectly fine from far, but when you go nearer, you can actually see how our Earth is suffering from our doings .

& the information page in our brochure stated different ways that one can do to save water and reduce electricity bills as well as SAVE the EARTH . when you reduce your electricity bills, you save MONEY and the most importantly is you SAVE the environment .

& lastly, the back cover of the brochure stated " Have you ever wondered how you could make a difference in the future ? well... here is the 1st step .. Save water & Electricity ! You can make the difference ! Do your part ! save the Earth, Save your FUTURE ! "

okay . WE decided to post on one of our Learning Issues found on our FILA chart. that is : Why is WATER important ?

Why is Water important ?

Water neccessary to all Living things.
Water is all around us, in the air and in the ground. It is in milk, vegetables, fruit, meat, leaves, trunks, roots and brances of tree; it is even in stones !
Water is used in many things:
1) to drink
2) to wash things
3) to water plants
4) to cook & many more .

People, animals, and even plants all need clean water to live.

Essential to life, a person's survival depends on drinking water. Water is one of the most essential elements to good health -- it is necessary for the digestion and absorbtion of food; helps maintain proper muscle tone; supplies oxygen and nutrients to the cells; rids the body of wastes; and serves as a natural air conditioning system.

Although only 1% of the world's water is usable to us. About 97% is salty sea water, and 2% is in glaciers and polar ice caps. Thus that 1% of the world's water supply is a precious commodity necessary for our survival.

How did we come up with this Learning Issue ?

we came up with this learning issue after discussing about what is the most important thing that affects the rise of electricity bills . Water is essential in our daily lives, wherever we are , even at home . & we must think how much water we had wasted without thinking of the importance of water . for example, when we brush our teeth, we let the tap water running . do you know how much water is wasted ? & that is how we came up with the learning issue, Why is water important?

Why did we come up with this learning issue ?

We came up with this learning issue to remind us of the importance of water , that water is essential to all living things . We must know the importance of water before doing our part in saving earth and water . . .

We're here again for another post ! Today, we are going to post about our impressions and opinions of reSACKel shopping bags .

In our opinions, we think that th reSackel bag is very useful .It us user-friendly,eco-friendly and environmentally-friendly ! by using reSackel bags, we can decrease the use of plastic bags . Plastic bags is a non-biodegradable material, which cannot be decomposed and if we burn them, poisonous gas will be given out, which will pollute and poison the air . i doubt nobody wants that to happen right ?

ReSackel bags are bags that is made from old used sacks and convert them into colourful new shopping bags . they can be AS GOOD AS NEW ! their slogan is based on thier products ; "One Bag-three times as friendly"

According to th website http://www.resackel.com/process , the process does not use chemicals or industrial process to make a ReSackel bag , which is a good thing . They also said that NO plastic is shredded, broken down or made into pellets before being turned into another product.THIS BAG IS REALLY FRIENDLY ! ;D

& According to the website http://www.resackel.com/dontuse , they advised us not to fabric bags of some kind :

Cotton, Jute, plastic - woven, non woven there is an endless choice, but they all use new fabric. Fabric that takes further resources and energy to manufacture.
Organic cotton may be grown in a friendly way, but it still takes land, labour, water and energy to weave, dye etc. and that’s just to make the fabric.
None of these bags do anything to reduce the thousands of sacks thrown away everyday.
There is enough plastic in an old 25 KG sack to make 20 or more disposable plastic bags.
So why use new fabric to solve the problem when there are so many sacks going to waste?

WE agree with them . Why use new fabric to solve the problem when there are lots of old sacks that going to waste ? so, WE advised all shoppers to use ReSackel bags .

okay, so, now, we are suppose to post about one of our learning issues but unfortunately, our project work file is in school, under one of our team member's desk , so, we have forgotten what are the learning issues. so, i guess we'll skip that post and NOW, we will post about the GTower green features .

The most impressive green feature is A rain water harvesting/ recycling system .

Why we choose that feature because I think that it is VERY important . One of the first steps to save Earth is obviously SAVING WATER .

Why ? because, without water, living things CAN'T survive . so, we need to save water and don't waste it . recycling used water is also saving water . for example, you could use the water that you used to wash your vegetables to water the plants . water is PRECIOUS and we must save it . water is limited eventhough we could see that the sea water filled up the most part of Earth.

water is needed for drinking, for aqua-animals to live, for agriculture, for farming and many more .

So, i think harvesting and recycling water is the most impressive green feature.

oh, I think we've not been updating this blog, which we SHOULD do . so, now, im going to talk about our group slogan ..

after discussing about different slogans to choose, we decided on

SAVE THE EARTH, SAVE OUR FUTURE . ;)

as our slogan .

we decided to have that slogan because we believe that we MUST save the Earth to save our future and let our future generations feel the Nature of Earth .

If we let Earth 'die' , we would not have the chance to enjoy th beauty of mother Earth and our future generations will suffer .

i'm sure you don't want your future generations as well as Earth to suffer and die right? so, what are you waiting for ?!
